Austin Chronicle Cover Shoot!
I was so flattered to be asked to style the cover of the Austin Chronicle’s Elements of Summer issue! Kate Messer requested that I interpret her vision of the four elements, personified. I imagined the elements as part burlesque, part goddess and part super hero. On Friday, May 18th, we met at Travaasa Austin, the spa retreat of my dreams, and shot an in depth guide to what’s fun.
The following is a behind the scenes pictorial…
Raven Hinojosa as Earth. Or “Bettie Page, Beyond Thunderdome.”
John Leach behind the camera, shoot the star of the hour; Hydro the Horse.
And here is Water in repose. The lovely Kitty, owning it.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine…
Sassy Delure, as Fire. Not scared one bit of that little old extinguisher…
Anna Fugate, made all the looks come together with her impressive makeup skills.
Close up of the flames that Anna painted on Sassy…
The end of a 10 hour shoot… Kate taking a well- earned rest by the lily pads.

*Didn’t want to give anything away before the issue hit the stands, but the wigs have come out of hiding today! If you’d like to see them in person, come by the shop and try one on!
Coco Coquette

So, so good. That tsunami wig is to die for. Well, they all are. Love!
The Wind is my fave… the wig and the fotos themselves speak volumes.. I hope to see a live presentation of these wonderful hair pieces..
